THANK YOU FOR 4 YEARS OF MAGIC & MEMORIES!
Wicked Walk was born in 2021 as a joyful response to challenging times,
offering safe and imaginative Halloween fun for our community.
Today, the focus is on building something new.
A fresh project. A new location.
A chance to serve a broader community differently with the same values at heart.
A LOOK BACK: THE ORIGIN OF WICKED WALK
Wicked Walk was created in 2021 by Sami Leigh, founder of Grrrl At The RockShow Productions, during her time as Programming Supervisor with the City of Providence Parks Department. The event was designed to offer a free, fun, & inclusive Halloween experience for all, especially families seeking a safe and accessible way to celebrate the season.
With support from the City of Providence Parks Department, 195 District Park, Downtown Providence Parks Network, Providence Tourism Council, and the Department of Arts, Culture & Tourism, Wicked Walk quickly became a beloved fall tradition in the heart of the City.
-
In 2021, over 300 attendees gathered on the MVL Memorial
Bridge & 195 District Park for the inaugural event.
-
By 2022, attendance grew to over 3,000 participants with
expanded programming and new community collaborations.
-
In 2023 & 2024, the event welcomed more than 5,000
visitors and introduced six new artist-designed trick-or-treat doors.
While Sami is no longer involved in the production of Wicked Walk, she is proud to have developed its original concept. She continues to bring seasonal joy to local communities through new, independent projects.
